Merry Christmas everyone!

It's been a loooong time since I wrote a journal, dearest apologies. I'm not sure why my updates are slowing, I've thought about it and nothing in particular comes to mind.

For DA related things, I'm looking back at this year's unfinished projects I've piled. I have at least one project for every single day of the year and then some. Unfortunately, I don't have enough time to complete every single project that comes to mind so by the next day I run onto the next project having abandoned the previous project half-way.

Right now I'm working on a few things that aren't my usual plate. My typical work is final production material completed with precision tools. Right now I'm working on a few drawings with my tablet and I cannot draw to save my own life. I'll try and get one of them out before year's end.

--||Additional/Miscellaneous||--
Aside from DA, I've got a ton of projects that I never bother even mentioning. Those projects I had for every day of the year? Those were something that could go on DA every time. The other ideas I've had are videos, musical productions and real-world pony integrated projects. I'm overwhelmed by the amount of ideas that I get in a single day and anybody who needs inspiration can talk to me. Friend's of mine ask and I can give them an oddly specific subject with a theme and emotion to convey. If I were asked to just lay every single idea I have into a notepad, I would not be able to write fast enough and every idea would become garbled by the time I get on with the next. Good thing I type an average of 180wpm.

Anyway, right now I'm working on the Orbital Friendship Cannon's actual firing animation. It's taken me 2 hours to do a test render with severely reduced settings on all fronts with a lot of effects excluded. Unfortunately, the cone of the cannon is transparent with refractions (which is important) so the render times right around the cone ramp up. Even in the editor I get a ton of lag because of all the moving parts. When the primary parts aren't in motion, it runs fine and I can fine tune things but when editting the major animations all lag breaks loose.

In my last journal, I mentioned riggling. I'm working on it but it's not going well XD. I rigged up a pony model but the rear end keeps mushing together unnaturally (and horrifically on a terrifyingly frequent occasion) with a plethora of strange things happening on the side.

I reinstalled photoshop but I almost never use it. It's primary use for me are resizing, format switching and cropping images. Making excellent use of commercial software!

My last journal I had mention of my computer specs. They've changed slightly since then.

Before I had a 7950 3GB with a single 28" and then a 4870 powering dual 19" displays.
Now I have the 7950 3GB working a single 28" and the 4870 pushing dual 23" displays. Total resolution 5760x1200.

I started cleaning my room today. It got worse. This happens much too often.
Have you ever lost something and began a search only to find a number of other lost objects other than your primary objective? I did that today. I lost a GPU but found a lot of cool stuff I never knew I had. I swear it's an archaeological dig here.

Wish everyone a Merry Christmas as well as a wonderful New Year's celebration!

I found out about you from your Obsolete Typography, and I just have to say that you make the best 3d renderings I've seen in the entire fandom. Keep up the amazing work!

If I may offer a word of advice... I noticed your wallpapers were all in png format. Normally, this is preferable, but with wallpapers, that's not the case. Windows 7 automatically converts any image format other than jpg into jpg format with a particularly nasty compression algorithm when used as a wallpaper, thus creating jpg artifacts. The way to avoid this is to render the image as a lossless jpg to begin with, rather than a png, so that Windows won't do any conversion that messes up the image. They didn't do this in older versions of Windows, and I have absolutely no idea why they do it now, but I figured I'd bring it to your attention.

It's simple enough for people to convert the images on their own if they have a good program like Photoshop, but some people might not think to do this.
